Cenk Şahin is the sailor with the highest passion for the sea I have come to know in recent times. In fact, he is not just a sailor but also a sea and sailing instructor, one of the approved instructors of TYF. When he founded the maritime culture website www.denizlerden.com many years ago, he interviewed me. I understood then that he was an admirer of the Fisherman of Halicarnassus. His love for Cevat Şakir was so strong that he organized many events on the birth and death anniversaries of the "Fisherman." He even had special flags made for our boats and distributed them. When I read his story titled "My Father's Lap" one night in the magazine where it was published, I couldn't wait until the next morning and called him late that night to congratulate him. Cenk has a strong pen and a blue heart. This book contains twenty beautiful sea stories from such a well-equipped and big-hearted sailor.
