SEA HAWK Sharkskin hard toxic paint is a 3.78 LT packaged underwater protection paint offered in navy blue color, with its modified epoxy-based structure and 42% copper oxide content. It can be used in fresh or salt water and provides multi-season protection against mussels, seaweed, green grass and other fouling organisms.
This hard antifouling paint can be applied to fiberglass, wood and properly prepared steel hulls. It should not be used on aluminum hulls. The hard, modified epoxy formula is abrasion resistant and designed to be suitable for occasional cleaning by a diver. It can also be applied over other modified epoxy paints.

Recommended paint quantity (approximate values for 2 coats)
| Boat type | Required bottom paint quantity |
|---|---|
| 10' boat | 1 qt. |
| 14' outboard | 1–2 qt. |
| 18' runabout | 2 qt. |
| 20' sailboat | 3 qt. |
| 24' runabout | 3–4 qt. |
| 30' sailboat | 1.5 gal. |
| 32' cruiser | 1.5–2 gal. |
| 36' auxiliary | 2 gal. |
| 40' cruiser | 2.5 gal. |
| 45' sailboat | 3–3.5 gal. |
| 50' sportfisher | 4+ gal. |
To determine the bottom paint quantity, the approximate surface area of the boat below the waterline can be estimated with the formula: Length x Beam x 0.75 = Approximate underwater surface area (ft²). The theoretical coverage value is found for each paint; since most antifouling paints require at least two coats of application, the actual coverage will be around half of the theoretical value.
