SEA HAWK SHARKSKIN HARD ANTIFOULING PAINT RED 3.78 LT
Hard, modified epoxy-based Sharkskin antifouling paint with 42% copper oxide provides multi-season protection against all types of marine fouling, including barnacles, seaweed, green growth, and other fouling organisms. Sharkskin can be used in fresh or salt water. Its hard, modified epoxy formula offers excellent abrasion resistance and withstands occasional cleaning by a diver. Sharkskin can be applied to fiberglass, wood, and properly prepared steel hulls. Do not apply to aluminum hulls.

Buy the Right Amount of Paint:
The recommendations below are for two coats of paint. All values are approximate.
| Boat Type | Bottom Paint |
|---|---|
| 10' Boat | 1 qt. |
| 14' Outboard | 1-2 qt. |
| 18' Runabout | 2 qt. |
| 20' Sailboat | 3 qt. |
| 24' Runabout | 3-4 qt. |
| 30' Sailboat | 1.5 gal. |
| 32' Cruiser | 1.5-2 gal. |
| 36' Utility | 2 gal. |
| 40' Cruiser | 2.5 gal. |
| 45' Sailboat | 3-3.5 gal. |
| 50' Sportfisher | 4+ gal. |
Another way to determine the amount of bottom paint needed is to estimate the approximate underwater surface area of the boat using the following formula:
Length x Beam x .75 = Approximate underwater surface area in square feet.
Each paint has a “theoretical coverage area,” but since most paints require at least two coats, you can generally expect the actual coverage area to be less than half of the theoretical value.
