Providing sufficient air is necessary to obtain efficiency from marine diesel engines. The model numbers of Vetus ventilators indicate for which engine power they are suitable. For example, for a boat with twin 80HP engines (total 160HP), 2 units of Model 80 (1 x starboard + 1 x port) ventilators are required.
The rear box option, which provides extra protection against water ingress into the engine room, is optional.
